Jessica is a co-founder, board member, and trustee of the Women in Jazz Association of British Columbia, a not-for-profit organization that holds events to empower women and individuals who identify as women in the jazz scene and aims to make the jazz scene more inclusive for all genders.

In addition, she is the main writer for Sister Jazz the Blog, and sits on the board of the Seattle Women in Jazz organization.

Jessica was the co-founder and organizer of HEARTBEAT: A Night of Intercultural Community Building Through Music and Poetry, which realized its 2nd successful year in March 2019.

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST

Jessica is a Canadian actor, vocalist, dancer, writer and visual artist.

Currently, Jessica is beginning prep for her mixed media performance "Into the Witch", collaborating with 240 Northern's Greg Samek as well as the Virtual Music Room project supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. She is also in pre-production for multiple albums, and has recently finished her first short film directorial debut.

EDUCATION

Jessica earned an MA in Peace Building and Human Security from Royal Roads University, with an interest in arts influence and inclusive societies.

She also received her Diploma in Jazz Studies from Capilano University and her BA with a joint major in Anthropology and Communication from Simon Fraser University.
