Melissa Hammer is a gifted multi-instrumentalist.
Twice nominated for the Galaxie Rising Star award, Melissa is in constant motion, keeping a busy schedule of performing, composing, recording and teaching.
She is a graduate of the Capilano University Jazz Studies program (trumpet), an accomplished Royal Conservatory trained pianist and has completed two residencies at the internationally recognized Banff Centre.
Melissa has performed with the likes of Kanye West, Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) and Jon and Roy, among others. Her local performances in Vancouver are based around collaboration with renowned guitarist Guenter Schulz (KMFDM, PIG) in the Hammer-Schulz Trio.
